USED, MISUSED AND ABUSED
Didn’t think I was going to write anything on marriage and relationships again because some unmarried female cotemporary told me the reason she doesn’t follow or comment on my status is because I flaunt my marriage at her face (can u believe that?), felt bad and decided to take a hiatus, but hey I am back and going to drop some more. This week has been one that started with a lot of discussions about marriage, relationships, being single and lots more, It culminated when my fine sista Grace Auta dropped some advice and then Barrister Dorcas cornered me too, first and foremost, how comes all the bad chicks end up with the good guys and my beautiful sistas are not married? Is it from their end? Or the brothas out there are not looking for the “#takehometomama type” anymore? For me, I see God fearing beautiful girls, well mannered and respectful, can’t seem to hang on a relationship or get it over the line, so where is the problem?
For one, I can say that many of us give very little and expect too much (speaking from both sides) or maybe give too much when there is no need to…babes you need to be able to read the *tell tales* from the onset, you should be able to decipher the real from the fake, I know it’s a long pole but you got to do it, I was upset when one of my good friends told me she had broken up with her boyfriend because he became a leech, I was like *saywat?*, you didn’t see it till now? Or where you down with love you couldn’t see past you nose?, before you throw sand in my eyes, take time to analyse this..i can tell you authoritatively that most dudes these days are not sincere at all and I say it with lots of reservation because I am a guy myself, yes its true, our sistas need to up their game and stop acting ignorant, YES, ignorant, and I dare say it with plenty respect for the women folk, you need to be a lot smarter because the reason he thinks he can get away with what he does, is he thinks he is much smarter than you. The past month has been one that I had to stay through loads of gist from my single female friends who are due for marriage (if you understand what I mean) and it is based on *their stories* that I make these submissions.
Whatever you read here is based on the entire gist from my interaction with my single female friends and colleagues, it is not conclusive or exhaustive, but it garners plenty ‘#hometruths , yes! Plenty of it
Our sistas need to dig deep within themselves and find ways to accept their foolishness, and through that, they will be able to see the light and not keep on making the same mistakes, you cannot continue to blame *him* for everything that has happened to you, where is your own part in the whole drama, let me give you a cue, you say you are born-again and God fearing, yet you hang around with a low life who sends you on errands to buy him cigarettes and kai-kai, pleasssssssssssse, at your age and level? What do you actually expect from that relationship? Where is that part of the bible that says *do not be unequally yoked*? Dude eats u dry, takes a hike, then u burst into my office and call me and my kind *dogs?*, oh how about meeting a guy on facebook and you believe everything he says, without even seeing him, at a point you start calling him “my husband”, not even fiancé oh, abi boyfriend, but husband, does your mother or father know him? Have you been to his place? Babe, this na Africa ohh, then the guy bails out, you come to do amebo with hanny and expect me to support you?,No way, the truth is bitter but better, you aint a kid babe..You are wholly responsible for your actions oh, and even though I am tempted to agree guys are evil, this one is on you. A female student of mine went to “camp”with a guy during the holidays, she called me and was asking when school will be resuming, I asked her where she was and she told me she with holidaying at “her husband’s” place, I was like, haba when did u get married?, just imagine, no one in your family knows him, they haven’t collected any bride price or even done introduction, you now elevate him to that exalted position, why take the risk, what if something goes wrong, in fact why give him your body on the cheap?, I am not a pastor but hey, that thing between your legs should be given some sort of respect abi how una see am?, ok , so the guy gets his fill, tells your off, you make the four hour journey back to kontagora and start calling me names..Was I there when it was going down?
You can accuse me of a lot of things but I dare say I have long learnt to stop blaming anyone for my troubles; I do a thorough soul searching before I start pointing accusing fingers. I have been used, misused and abused by women, infact I don try for women, I have tried oh, I remember a girlfriend I had way back, who I do cook for every other Sunday (Sunday-Sunday rice) *wink wink* and take to her hostel while she was in school (yes I did, and she is on Facebook too) but ended up broken hearted, I didn’t call anybody names, I just dusted my embarrassed behind and carried on with life, those who knew me well in Jos will tell you of my ordeal with a certain lady who slapped me twice in front of my friends and was generally abusive ( oya kyonne, uche, dan hodus and Sandra Mandy start laughing), yet I didn’t call women b^*t~s or any other names as such.
Remember, this is for my friends whom I have being having discussions with over the past one month, this aint exhaustive and it won’t answer all of your questions, I aint God, I don’t have the answers to everything, I am just pointing out where I think you got it wrong, most of you are making it too evident you are desperate to get hitched, marriage is good but it aint the ultimate, your happiness is most important walahi.
Please, I want to beg my beautiful sistas, you are all beautiful and resourceful, don’t allow any man to take advantage of you, or rubbish you, don’t show desperation because it will make you vulnerable to a lot of things you will regret later, look before you leap ohh, love aint blind anymore, if he doesn’t earn it, he can’t have it. Your body is very very important; don’t think if u give it up, he will marry you, it doesn’t work like that anymore, if u are steadfast and faithful God go pity you give you better husband like he pitied me and brought Hanny to lighten up my *yeye* life.
Abeg make all the mistakes and accusations and cursing stop. May your roads be rough; I wish you what you wish yourself.

PLEASE STAND UP
Was angry as I left the accountants office, if he wasn’t going to pay, why did he call me to his office? I decided to go out for my lunch break, as I sauntered down the hall connecting my office and the bookshop, I saw HER office door opened, lackadaisically I just passed through without looking at HER desk, then I got hit with a wonderful scent emanating from that quarter, I did a 180 and went back to see where the scent was coming from, alas it was from HER office! Hmm,
I popped in and said “hi”
“Good afternoon “she quipped back!
Sorry, but could I get the name of whatever it is you are wearing that has that lovely smell? I asked with a grin on my face, while taking a cursory look at her, gosh,, so she is this pretty? I thought, how the heck have I missed that point all of my six months working around her?
I don’t know, it’s my elders sister’s, but if you are interested, I could get it for you”, she said with little enthusiasm. So I asked her to do that and she jokingly asked me if I wanted to get the perfume for my girlfriend. I said nope, right now I am not interested in women one bit, because I just came out of a terrible one.. We parted ways that day with her promising to get the brand name for me.
The next day I was at HER office, and she handed me a piece of paper with the name as she promised, I thanked her and left, I came back during lunch time to ask her if she could have lunch with me which she obliged, I took her to a bukka behind her office where we ate and talked about loads of stuff from religion to relationships to education and lots more. We continued the same routine for a pretty long time till the day I woke up I realized there was no way I was going to allow you slip through my life, the past months of being platonic friends really showed me a lot and opened my eyes to a new vista I hadn’t seen all my adult life, I blessed the day I decided to stop and pop through her office door.
Your father wasn’t sure, when he started seeing me frequent your house, he thought I was David,” your immediate younger brother thought I was a playa from Tudun Wada part of town. I had to prove them wrong. I remember when I called and told you I got the job at kontagora, you were like “konta-WHAT?, I saw some mixed reaction and wasn’t sure where you stood.
When it was time for me to leave, you cried your eyes out, I wasn’t sure why you were, but there and then, I made a promise to you and God that no matter what, I was gonna make it happen, you kept calling me and encouraging me when I was new in town, telling me things will be ok, you even had to split your salary into two parts so that you could sustain me, during my three months hiatus. No chick had done that for me before, walahi, I just spend, spend and spend, but yours was different, I remember I had to beg you to collect stuff from me when we first met, I just couldn’t believe a naija babe will refuse to collect money or recharge cards for that matter, you were so so different. I remember when I got settled and got accommodation and asked you to come down for a visit, you declined and I was dumbfounded, you said I had to go ask your father if I truly wanted you to come over, it was a tug of war, you Dad gave me all types of conditions if he was to allow you come over.. Living here without you was crazy, all the temptations and drama were enough for me to forget about you, but when I remember all the garrï-soaking” days and okada – sharing, I just had to put myself in check, it wasn’t easy believe me, my dear see fine fine babes all over the place from students, corpers to bankers, hmmm, no be God?. Do you remember the day I called you and asked when my people could see your parents, you were like for what? , I just laughed and told you to make sure the list ‘no plenty ohh”, you started crying, and up till now you haven’t told me why.

Do you remember the day I called you and asked when my people could see your parents, you were like for what? , I just laughed and told you to make sure the list ‘no plenty ohh”, you started crying, and up till now you haven’t told me why.

footy madness

the time is now....yes, it is and i dare say with a heavy heart that the time has come for Nigeria to chart a new course in her footballing life, no i aint gonna talk about the drugs fiasco involving damola osayomi and samuel okon at the Delhi commonwealth games 2010, and again i wouldnt jon issues with all those peeps at the glass house who have sworn to bring us nearer to dooms day, yes, i will remind davidson owumi and that:" HIAAH" baribote, even audu maigari aint spared, be very careful, nija is bigger than all of you, and please be reminded that we are tired of sitting down and watching mediocre s run the beautiful game down here, NO enough is enough, ordinary people like me have suffered too much for the game and will not sit and watch you riun it, i have sacrificed a lot for the game and it makes me so so sad to see what has happened to the super eagles nay the other national teams, what of the league?, its in shambles and that mallam called BIO was to take us back to the stone ages, 24 teams in a rag tag premier league?, how dumb can one person be?, i have transverse this great country supporting our teams from my hard earned money, and its reaching an alarming rate that i am temoted to adopt a the black stars, but my patrotism would not allow me, from the liberation stadium in port-harcourt, to the ahmadu bello stadium, kaduna, right across, te kwara sorts complex, ilorin, via tafawa balewa stadium, bauchi, by adamasingba unto rwang pam stadium, jos, zaria township stadium with kontagora city stadium, i have stayed to keep true to the game but those guys are the worst set of administrators we have had since i started following the beaitiful game and believe me its almost three decades, yes three decades.....Now the syli stars of giunea made the super eagles look silly, my candid opinion?, we need fresh legs and honestly 80 percent of the squad should be thrown out, only vincent enyeama, taiye taiwo, obinna nsofor, oba martins, osaze odemwingie, micheal eneramo should be retained!!!! hey don't scream, i will give u lowdown of who i think should be given a chance, we should look at bassey akpan(bayelsa), king osanga (etoile du sahel), ahmed musa(vv venlo), matt murray (wolves), moses lamidi, (kaiserslautern) sunny stephen (valencia), joel obi & obiorah nwankwo), phillip auta , otekpa enechi, valentine nwabili (enyimba), barthlomew "mosqiuto ibenegbu, ike thankgod (heartland),brown ideye (sochaux), leon balogun (numberg), micheal odibe (siena), danny adejo (reginna), these are just a few.. i have much more naija can count on instead of these tired, non-challent lazy millionares.. enogu is enough, if you don't want to play dont show up, and for the first time ever, the cash meant for the super eagles bonuses was returned to the coffers of the sports commision, unprecedented i must say, THIS BAND OF SUPER EAGLES ARE A DISGRACE TO THE COUNTRY, we need to start rebuilding now for brazil 2014, if brazil are doing it, i don't see any reason why naija shouldn't, "nuff said

MARVELLA.... the begining

okay, so for all the olofofo's that have called or sms in asking for the full gist as per the last seven days.. here we go ehen, before we go on i must tell y'all i have this new found respect for women..dammmn, wat my baby (thats the mum)went through is something i am not sure we can go through with again.. it was absolutely humbling, if anybody talk say God no dey that person must be insane, u can quote me on that,
last Sunday was one of the most terrifying yet exciting day of my life, we couldn’t go to church cos she was not in the right frame of mind and i could see she was in distress, she insisted i go to church that she could take care of herself, i said no way, i wanna stay by ur side, later on in the evening she was holding her tummy and complaining of cramps, i then knew the moment was gradually drawing near, i took her to a private clinic near the house, the nurse there was like we should go home blah blah blah, that it was nothing serious, i took her home and we went to bed, around 1 am Monday morning, she woke me up, and alas.. it was on, we quickly picked up all the essentials and drove down to the hospital with my very good friend and brother Andrew yohanna, she was taken to the delivery room and we were told to go to the waiting room,
ol boy i couldn’t stay there oh.. i just went to the car and started praying, i didn’t know i could be such a prayer warrior, to heighten my anxiety, the first woman to come out, came out dead and the baby died too, ahhhhhhhh, the next lost the baby but managed to cling to life.. ol boy come see prayer.. yohanna joined me too, her labour took us till 9.30am where i was always peeping through the window to try and see if i could catch a glimpse but to no avail, i sent her a note telling her how much i love her and how the lord is her strength and all that, the nurses were laughing at me and wondering how i expected her to read the note, but i insisted the note should get to her... around 10am, i was called to the waiting room and handed the most beautiful thing i have ever seen..when i held her, my legs started wobbling.... i couldn’t believe how beautiful and peaceful she looked, i almost started crying but then i remembered "men don’t cry in hospitals" behave urself i said, u wan disgrace urself?.. i had to wait another hour before my wife came out thanking me for giving her a beautiful baby, i told her "honey, no be me na God".. we hugged and kissed much to the chagrin of others in the hospital, abeg make dem leave us joo, me and my wife dont have a problem with public display of emotions.. after prayers and thanksgiving, we headed home to begin fresh chapter in our lives
thanks to all that were there with me at the hospital during the waiting period and after.. big regards to Andrew yohanna and his wife, Ruth, 8 hours together at the hospital shows u are a real friend, sola niyi, God bless oh.. when u go marry make i come help u too?, abafaras Abednego, u too much, Rev. Kure, thank you for being there, Baba J
me... thanks for all pls join me on the 20th of September for the welcome party for MARVELA REKWI KYANA ANDREW RANDA..our bundle of joy
